Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the WASF website, submitting a result through a WASF-certified partner application, or using any WASF certificate-verification or ranking service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use these services.

2. Description of Service

World AI Sports Federation (WASF) is a New York not-for-profit corporation, headquartered in New York, that publishes standards for AI-assisted sports, certifies partner applications and hardware against those standards, and maintains world rankings and achievement certificates for results submitted by certified partners. WASF has not yet obtained federal tax-exempt recognition under IRS Section 501(c)(3) — its 501(c)(3) application is currently in process. WASF does not itself develop or operate the commercial AI scoring applications athletes use — see our About page.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

Some WASF services (e.g. staff access to the certificate-management system) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Where a participant is a minor, participation requires parental or guardian consent obtained by the certified partner application.

4. Certified Partner Applications & Hardware Requirements

Results are only accepted from applications and hardware that have been certified against WASF's published standards. As described in our Privacy Policy, all pose-tracking and AI scoring must occur via on-device edge computing — no video or biometric data may be transmitted to WASF as part of certification. For offline, in-person competitions, certified partners are expected to prioritize domestically manufactured edge-computing hardware in the host country wherever compliant local hardware is available.

5. AI-Assisted Certification — Nature and Limitations

WASF certificates and rankings reflect AI-assisted scoring performed according to WASF's published rules. AI assistance supports but does not replace human judgment: for officiated competitions, a qualified human official retains final decision-making authority over any AI-assisted call. WASF certificates are not a guarantee of any particular level of athletic achievement recognized by any third party, sports body, or government.

6. Rankings and Certificates

Published rankings are periodic, frozen snapshots — see our ranking methodology page for how and when rankings are published. WASF may revoke a certificate found to have been issued based on falsified, tampered, or fraudulently submitted data.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not: submit falsified or tampered result data; attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent the anonymization of athlete identifiers; use WASF services to harass or discriminate against others; or interfere with the security or proper functioning of WASF's systems.

8. Intellectual Property

The WASF name, logo, and published standards documents are the property of World AI Sports Federation. Certified partners may reference their certification status in accordance with WASF's branding guidelines.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

WASF services are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, WASF disclaims warranties of any kind and shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of its services.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
